This doesn’t surprise me, as it supports the history of patriarchy and misogyny in the US, and particularly in the southern states.

Equal rights and body acceptance in the US still have a long way to go in law and standards of public morality. The Americans have to cut the reactionary Conservative bonds and adopt values from Canada, France, Scandinavia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Holland and Eastern Europe vis-a-vis the human body.

The social, psychological, legal and health benefits of casual nudity are, from research, immense.
